Giselle Ottley

Born in Trinidad and Tobago, Giselle was exposed to so many different forms of vibrant art and cultural expression, having enjoyed notable events like Carnival, Diwali, Easter, and Christmas. It was in those moments she would spend time with family and friends, visiting the country’s beautiful beaches, waterfalls, parks, and rivers.

Growing up, she always heard sayings like “a photo says a thousand words” or “a photo can last a lifetime.” Those simple phrases left a lasting impression on her, especially being surrounded with such creativity, natural beauty, and life.

Giselle has always had a passion for art but could never draw. So she turned to photography to discover, nurture, and express her artistic passion by capturing beautiful moments in time and its essence through the lens of a camera. She enjoys taking unique photos of landscapes, nature, people, and food, all with interesting composition with the hope of others seeing the art in what she does.

To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place…I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.
